McGEORGE CONTRACTING COMPANY (HEAVY CONSTRUCTION)

McGeorge Contracting Company is a heavy civil contracting and mining professional team made up of 400+ locally based Arkansas employees. Started in 1946, we specialize in construction, sitework and large earthmoving projects for public and private clients, as well as owning and operating the largest resident fleet of heavy earthmoving and grading equipment in Arkansas.

GMQ (QUARRIES)

Granite Mountain Quarries, formed in 1964, has grown from a small, local crushed stone quarry to a leading producer of industrial and construction materials in the southeastern United States. We produce aggregate that can be used in state jobs, asphalt jobs, concrete jobs, FAA jobs, railroad maintenance and new construction. We have four quarries located in the region that averages over 5,500,000 tons sold a year.

CRANFORD CONSTRUCTION (ASPHALT)

Cranford Construction has been a leading provider of asphalt and paving services since 1965. Today, the team operates six hot mix plants and maintains crews throughout central and southwestern Arkansas. We offer hot mix asphalt, warm mix asphalt and recycled asphalt, as well as milling and paving services. We average over 600,000 tons of asphalt sold per year.

WK CONTRACTORS (CONCRETE)

In operation since 2018, WK Contractors, Inc. allows for more timely completion and confidence in bidding on projects that include concrete structures. WK performs various contract work such as curbs, gutters, ditch paving and other concrete structures, both in coordination with McGeorge and Cranford projects as well as subcontracting for others.

Cross County Gravel Company

McGeorge Contracting Co., Inc. has ownership access to Cross County Gravel Company, a landholding entity.

Cross County Gravel has three tracts in Cross County; they are approximately 10 acres, 160 acres, and 200 acres respectively.

E.C. Rowlett Construction Co., Inc.

E. C. Rowlett Construction Co. was acquired in 2005 from the Rowlett family. At the time of purchase, Rowlett operated the Crystal Hill sandstone quarry, an asphalt plant at the same location and offered asphalt paving. The quarry location was absorbed into the Granite Mountain Quarries group, becoming Plant #4. Cranford Construction absorbed the asphalt operations, giving us four plants to serve the Central Arkansas market. Rowlett is a wholly owned subsidiary of McGeorge Contracting Co., Inc.

McGeorge Equipment Rental Company

McGeorge Equipment Rental is a Royalty Partnership that owns certain real estate parcels of the newer quarry properties at Granite Mountain Plant #1 and most of the quarry property of Granite Mountain Plant #2.

It was formed in 1950 by Generation 2 members of the Dickinson and McGeorge families, originally in the business of owning and renting equipment and machinery primarily for use by McGeorge Contracting Co., Inc and Cotton Belt Gravel Company. Later, it began purchasing the real estate noted above and began exiting the equipment business during the 1980s.

Rock Island Gravel Company

McGeorge Contracting Co., Inc. has ownership access to Rock Island Gravel Company, a landholding entity.

Rock Island Gravel Company owns property in Saline County and Drew County. It has two tracts in Saline County; an 18.54-acre tract on the Saline River and a 12.36-acre tract on Military Road. It has two additional tracts in Drew County – they are 124.14 acres and 135 acres respectively.

Arkansas Pit and Quarry

Arkansas Pit and Quarry Company is a Royalty Partnership that owns certain real estate parcels of the original quarry properties at Granite Mountain Plant #1.

It was formed in 1951 by Generation 2 members of the Dickinson and McGeorge families.

McGeorge Companies, LLC

McGeorge Companies, LLC is the ownership entity of the investment in American Contractors Insurance Group (ACIG). We joined ACIG in 2005 to secure our Workers Compensation, General Liability and Auto Liability coverage. We have added additional coverage lines as available using their large purchasing power (typically 40 members). The companies began sincere efforts to maximize safe operations prior to joining ACIG and were on an improving path. ACIG helped further that effort with good practices and importantly providing us return premiums based upon our improving experience.

Trinity Foundation

Trinity Foundation is a charitable Private Foundation formed in the early 1950s based upon annual donations primarily from McGeorge Contracting Co., Inc. and Pine Bluff Sand and Gravel Company. The initial focus of Trinity was education and included a scholarship program that remains in place today. Notable recipients of Trinity grants include the Independent College Fund of Arkansas, UALR School of Engineering, Arkansas Children’s Hospital, Trinity Village and Go Forward Pine Bluff. Numerous other organizations rely upon annual assistance from Trinity to provide for improved quality of life in Central Arkansas.
